What is a sand mould?

Sand casting as a process has been around for thousands of years. It involves creating a shape, encasing it in sand and then removing the original to leave a cavity. This is the sand mould into which molten metal is poured, left to cool and then broken out to reveal a casting. The industrial revolution, technology, new materials, knowledge and skill levels may have made things more sophisticated, but essentially the principle remains the same.

Many castings i.e. bollards and columns are not solid but have hollow centres or cavities. To create a cavity the internal shape of the casting is formed by making a sand core, which is then placed in the mould cavity. The molten iron runs between the mould and the core which, when the sand from the core is removed, leaves a hollow casting.

A fixture is a work holding device and position the work; but doesn’t guide ‘locate or position the cutting tool’ the setting of the tool is done by machine adjustment and a setting blocker using slip gauges. Jigs are used on drilling , reaming , tapping and couter boring operations , while fixtures are used in connection with turning , milling , grinding , shaping , planning and boring operations.

Quality Checking For Forging Parts

Forged components are mainly produced in industries which manufacture iron or steel forgings; wholesales ferrous iron & steel products; industrial valves & fittings; manufactures fabricated pipe fittings; plate metal fabricator; manufactures valves & pipe fittings etc. The goal of Kayjayforgings is to meet the needs of iron industry by providing conventional and special forged components which are produced by using best quality forged materials and also to manufacture other quality products and services.

Always in the Production process there is a Long Felt need to improve the Quality of Product, Minimize Rejection and Increase the Productivity per Person, to Cater to the Pressing Circumstances in the GLOBALISED .Whereas special machines are those which comes into picture every the design and component changes. SPM’s are required to increase production and reduce manual error.These machines in very much need throughout industry to increase production. In standard machines there is a limit and they are capable of doing certain pre-loaded tasks.
